Switzerland

(French Suisse; German Schweiz; Italian Svizzera), federal republic in west central Europe, bounded on the north by France and Germany, on the east by Austria and Liechtenstein, on the south by Italy, and on the west by France. The country has an area of 41,288 sq km (15,941 sq mi).

Switzerland is one of the most mountainous countries of Europe, with more than 70 percent of its area covered by the Alps, in the central and southern sections, and the Jura, in the northwest. The population of Switzerland (2001 estimate) is 7,250,000. The ethnic composition of Switzerland is generally defined by the major language communities: German, French, Italian, and Romansh (Rhaeto-Romanic).The capital is Bern, Zürich is the largest city and its the financial center of the country. The official languages of Switzerland are German (spoken by about 64 percent of the population), French (19 percent), and Italian (7 percent). The fourth national language, Romansh, is spoken by less than 1 percent of the people. Other languages spoken include Spanish, Portuguese, and Turkish. In a majority of the cantons the most commonly spoken language is Schwyzertütsch (Swiss German), like Grüss Gott as Grützi and Barenhof as Barenhofli ;) Its like speaking german in a funny way :)

Svájc kantonokból (tartományokból) álló szövetségi köztársaság Közép-Európában.  Erős hagyományai vannak a politikai és katonai semlegesség terén, de a nemzetközi együttműködés terén is, mivel számos nemzetközi szervezet székhelye. Az ország területének 70 %-át hegyek borítják az Alpok és a Jura hegység. Svájc lakossága 7.250.000 fő körül van. A hivatalos és leginkább beszélt nyelvek a német, olasz (leginkább délen), francia (Genf és környéke), de természetesen angolul szinte mindenhol beszélnek. Felfedezhetjük (pl. Bernben) az ún. svájci német nyelvet, az elején viccesnek tűnhet, hogy a Grüss Gott helyett Grützit mondanak vagy a Hof (udvar) Hofli-nek vagy Bar-t (medve) is Barli-nak mondják. A főváros az ország középpontjában található Bern, a pénzügyi központ és a legnagyobb város pedig Zürich.  

Rövid vélemény: csodaszép természet (az egyetlen amiért tényleg megérte nekem odamenni, sehol máshol nem ennyire gyönyörű se Ausztria se Olaszország szerintem!!,  drága és pocsék szállások Olaszországhoz képest (kritikán aluliak voltak ár-érték arányt nézve), ételek: változó, délen olaszos svájci konyha, Zürich körül német konyha hatása érvényesül, nagyon drága, vásárolni nem nagyon vásároltunk inkább csak ennivalót, mindig kevés frankot váltottunk vagy nem is váltottunk, kártyával pedig nem akartunk sokat vásárolni.
